Gold Prices Unchanged Amid Anticipation for US Jobs Data
Gold prices held steady on Thursday as markets awaited key US jobs data to gauge the Federal Reserve's next policy move.
The crucial US nonfarm payrolls report for September is scheduled for release on Friday, and its outcome will be closely watched by traders.
Slightly above 4,155.65 per ounce, spot gold remained unchanged as of 0205 GMT, while US gold futures were flat at $4,185.40.
A stronger greenback makes dollar-priced metals costlier for holders of other currencies, and the rising US Treasury yields support a firm US dollar.
'The PCE data gave gold some lift, but that move faded due to the relentless rise in yields,' said Ilya Spivak, head of global macro at Tastylive.
