Gold Prices Volatile Amid US-Iran Tensions
Gold and silver prices fluctuated in Indian cities on September 21. Spot gold hovered at $4,365 per ounce after falling slightly, while US gold futures declined by 0.40 percent to $4,407 per ounce amid escalating tensions between the US and Iran.
The domestic spot gold price closed at Rs 1,53,176 per 10 grams, while silver held steady at Rs 2,37,062 per kilogram. MCX gold futures for the October contract surged by 0.84 percent to Rs 1,54,263 per 10 grams, and silver rose by 0.16 percent to Rs 2,42,000 per kilogram.
Gold prices vary among cities in India. The rates of 24K gold moved as follows: Delhi, Rs 44,200; Mumbai, Rs 45,700; Kolkata, Rs 46,800; and Chennai, Rs 47,400 for a 10-gram gold. In contrast, the price of 1 kilogram of silver of 999 purity remained steady at Rs 2,37,062.
