Gold Pullback Creates Opportunity for Buyers

Gold's recent price pullback has some investors wondering if it's time to buy. The precious metal approached $4,700 before retreating to around $4,600.

The correction is seen as an opportunity for buyers to re-enter the market once the overbought conditions accumulated during August's strong rally have been unwound.

Central banks continue to show support for gold, with net purchases of approximately 289 tonnes in Q2, a 62% increase from the same period last year. Reserve managers expect global central-bank gold reserves to increase over the next 12 months, with 89% anticipating their own central banks will do the same.

The Fed's upcoming PCE inflation data and Chairman Kevin Warsh's speech at Jackson Hole may impact gold prices in the short term, but a deeper correction could provide more attractive buying opportunities for investors.
