Gold, Silver Prices Down Amid Strong Dollar and Rising Yields
Gold and silver prices have been under pressure due to a stronger US dollar and rising Treasury yields. On Thursday, gold remained below $4,300 an ounce after declining sharply in the previous session.
The price of gold was also affected by strong private-sector data from the US, which fueled inflation concerns and increased expectations of further Federal Reserve rate hikes.
Copper futures fell to below $6.70 per pound as a stronger US dollar reinforced expectations of further Federal Reserve rate hikes.
Crude oil prices, however, rose above $103 a barrel amid uncertainty over US-Iran negotiations.
