On Wednesday, August 26th, gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCE) rose to Rs 1.62 lakh per 10 grams in October delivery contracts.

This represents a gain of Rs 115 or 0.07% from the previous day's close, with a business turnover of 674 lots.

Meanwhile, silver futures for September delivery increased by Rs 1,284 or 0.53%, reaching Rs 2,45,411 per kilogram in a business turnover of 1,093 lots.

The rise in gold and silver prices is attributed to speculators creating fresh positions on account of firm spot demand.
