Gold, Silver Prices Soar on Festive Demand and Global Cues
Gold and silver prices surged in India on Monday, with gold futures for October delivery jumping by as much as 0.76% to an intraday high of Rs 1,52,982 on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). This represents a gain of Rs 1,162 from the previous day.
The rise in prices was driven by buying momentum ahead of the festive season and firm global market cues. Market experts pointed to rising jewellery and investment demand as key factors supporting domestic precious metal prices.
Silver futures for September delivery outperformed gold, rising up to 1.62% or Rs 3,755 to touch an intraday high of Rs 2,35,221 on the MCX. This represents a gain of Rs 3,427 from the previous day.
