Gold and silver prices have surged in India as of September 16. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), gold has risen by ₹992 to ₹1,51,894 per 10 grams, while silver increased by ₹2,418 to ₹2,31,159 per kilogram.

The prices have been fluctuating throughout the year. As of December 31, 2025, 10 grams of gold were priced at ₹1,33,195, compared to the current price of ₹1,51,894. Silver stood at ₹2,30,420 per kg on the same date and is now at ₹2,31,159.

Market experts believe that prices may continue to fluctuate until there is clarity on interest rates following the US Federal Reserve meeting. However, geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty may support gold as a safe-haven investment.
