Gold Soars to Rs 1.49 Lakh as Silver Hits Rs 2.22 Lakh in India
Gold prices in India have surged on October 1, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). The price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold increased by Rs 799 to reach Rs 1.49 lakh.
Silver also gained Rs 1,519 per kg, reaching a price of Rs 2.22 lakh. This marks a significant fluctuation in prices since the beginning of the year, with gold up Rs 15,488 and silver down Rs 8,466 from December 31, 2025.
The current price of gold is influenced by various factors, including transportation costs, local demand, and market conditions. The purity and prevailing rate are also crucial considerations for buyers when purchasing gold jewellery.
