Gold prices held steady above $4,117 per ounce on October 21, 2026, as investors weighed inflation concerns and the outlook for US interest rates. US gold futures dipped 0.18 percent to $4,135.10 per ounce, reflecting cautious market sentiment ahead of the Federal Reserve’s October-end rate decision.
In domestic markets, MCX gold futures for December 4 delivery traded 0.02 percent lower at Rs 1,46,488 per 10 grams, while silver futures fell 0.29 percent to Rs 2,10,877 per kilogram. Spot gold in India closed the previous session at Rs 1,45,353 per 10 grams, with silver at Rs 2,08,380 per kilogram.
Vikram Subburaj, CEO of Giottus, noted that gold needs to regain Rs 1,47,000 to signal near-term stabilization, with support around Rs 1,45,000 remaining crucial. For silver, support near Rs 2,08,000 is key, while a move above Rs 2,13,000 could strengthen its recovery prospects.
Market volatility is expected to persist as traders await the Federal Reserve’s policy guidance, with the US dollar and Treasury yields also influencing bullion prices.
