Gold Tests $4,000 Support Amid Elevated Yields and Geopolitical Tension
Gold has been experiencing one of its toughest days in recent weeks, falling nearly 4% on Monday and trading around $4,120. This break below $4,200 is significant, but it's unlikely to determine Gold's next major trend on its own.
The real test may lie further down, with the area immediately below current prices being far more important than the level that was breached. Gold has already established several lows around $4,000 in recent months, and the $3,900-$4,000 region corresponds with the June and July troughs and a former major reversal area from October and November 2025.
The coming days will feature several US economic releases capable of quickly changing the trajectory of Treasury yields and the US Dollar. Strong figures could reinforce monetary-tightening expectations and leave Gold vulnerable to further declines, while signs of economic weakness or softer-than-expected inflation could pull yields lower and weigh on the US Dollar.
