Gold prices have taken a hit as the US dollar and yields continue their upward trend. The XAU/USD, which measures gold against the US dollar, has been affected by this resurgence in dollar strength.

The increase in US yields is partly due to rising inflation expectations. This has caused investors to seek safer assets with higher returns, further contributing to the rise in the dollar.

FOREX.com notes that 77% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with their provider. Investors are reminded to fully understand the risks involved and consider whether they can afford to take on this level of risk.
