Golden Pass Inches Closer to First LNG Production
Golden Pass, an LNG project jointly owned by Exxon Mobil and QatarEnergy, took a significant step towards production on Wednesday. According to LSEG data, the plant pulled 300 million cubic feet of gas as it moves closer to making its first liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The $10-billion project in Texas is expected to be one of the largest U.S. LNG export facilities and help the country maintain its position as the world's largest exporter of superchilled gas.
Exxon Mobil's CEO Darren Woods had previously stated that he expects the plant to start producing LNG in March, marking a key milestone for the project.
