Gold's Flatline Ignites Outperformance in These Three Miners
The gold market has been experiencing a tumultuous year so far, trading flat year to date. However, three companies involved in the gold production industry have outperformed the precious metal itself.
Coeur Mining (CDE) is one such company that has caught investor attention with its strong performance and share price under $20. Its latest earnings report in August was promising, despite a revenue miss and EPS miss, as it reported record quarterly performance with $1.1 billion in revenue and adjusted EBITDA at $478 million.
Alamos Gold (AGI) is nearing completion of its major Island Gold Phase 3 expansion, which has helped the company generate significant free cash flow and increase its buybacks and dividend payments. However, the company recently trimmed its full-year production guidance following a seismic event at one of its sites.
Wheaton Precious Metals (WPM) provides financing to mining companies and retains the right to purchase a portion of production at preset prices, reaping rewards without dealing with higher costs during inflation. Its second-quarter earnings report had many highlights, including approximately 85% year-over-year revenue growth and $650 million in operating cash flow.
