The Indian government has taken effective steps to ensure the availability of crude oil, LPG, and natural gas across the country. According to Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, refineries are operating at maximum capacity, and LPG connectivity has increased.

Domestic LPG supply remains smooth with no dry-outs reported at any distributorship. To minimize supply chain disruptions, commercial LPG restoration has reached nearly 70%. Over seven lakh new LPG connections have been gasified since March this year, while around seven lakh 50 thousand new consumers have registered for PNG connections.

In a separate incident, two vessels carrying more than 19 thousand Metric tons of LPG crossed the Strait of Hormuz and are expected to arrive at Kandla on May 16th. The Indian trading vessel MSV Haji Ali encountered an incident in Omani waters, but all 14 crew members were safely rescued by the Omani Coast Guard.
