Grain Futures Rebound Ahead of USDA Reports, But May Be Subdued Today
Grain futures bounced back overnight in anticipation of upcoming USDA reports, but may be subdued today due to market positioning ahead of the releases.
The December corn contract rose by 3 cents, while November soybeans increased by 4.5 cents. The Western Corn Belt is bracing for more heavy rains and potential flooding, which could impact crop yields.
The USDA's quarterly grain stocks report will be released today at 11 a.m. CT, providing final stock figures for the 2025-26 marketing year for corn and soybeans, as well as details on first-quarter wheat use.
Analysts expect corn stocks to come in modestly below USDA's September WASDE figure after strong use in the final month of the marketing year.
