Grain Futures Rise Ahead of Key USDA Reports
Grain futures rose on Wednesday morning ahead of two key USDA reports. The increases were seen in corn, soybeans, and wheat markets. December corn added $0.02 to $5.24 per bushel, while November soybeans climbed $0.11 to $13.09. The gains come as traders position themselves for the reports, which are scheduled for 11 a.m. CT.
The USDA's quarterly Grain Stocks report and annual Small Grains 2026 Summary are expected to provide insight into U.S. grain supplies and influence commodity prices. Naomi Blohm, senior market advisor with Total Farm Marketing, noted that the reports have the potential to move markets, but their impact will depend on whether USDA figures differ meaningfully from trade expectations.
The soybean market received additional support after USDA announced a new export sale of 105,000 metric tons of soybeans to unknown destinations for delivery during the 2026/27 marketing year. Wheat markets were also positive, with December Kansas City wheat at $7.44 per bushel and Minneapolis wheat at $7.03.
