Grain Market Struggles Amid Weather Uncertainty
Friday's grain trade was marked by light volume, with crude oil attempting to recover and soybeans continuing to trade in the red. The market is still feeling the effects of Wednesday's USDA Grain Stocks report, which showed U.S. corn stocks at a higher-than-expected 2.095 billion bushels.
Soybean stocks came in below expectations at 315 million bushels, adding to the bearish sentiment. Traders are now looking ahead to next week's weather and harvest progress, as well as the USDA report on Friday.
The expected dryout could allow farmers to pick up the pace of harvesting, but wet conditions have already slowed down the process. China will be on holiday next week, limiting potential headlines from one of the market's key soybean buyers.
