Grain Market Surges on Strong Global Demand and Chinese Rebound
The grain market is experiencing an unusual price rally heading into harvest, with corn up $1.50 from its June low and soybeans gaining nearly $3.
Terrain grain and oilseed analyst Bree Baatz attributes the counterseasonal move to strong global demand for U.S. exports, particularly in corn, where the global stocks-to-use ratio is tightening.
Baatz also notes that China's return to the U.S. market is creating positive momentum for U.S. soybeans, following a year of decreased demand due to trade tensions.
Producers are advised to take a serious look at current prices and evaluate their local demand outlets, as the same geopolitical headlines driving the market higher could reverse quickly.
