Grain Markets Weaken as Peace Talks Boost Optimism
Grain and livestock markets have seen significant fluctuations in prices on September 23, 2026. The DTN Progressive Farmer reported that December corn has dropped by 5 cents per bushel, while November soybeans have declined by 6 cents. In contrast, October feeder cattle have increased by $0.95 to $328.975.
The U.S. Dollar Index has risen by 0.230, and November crude oil has surged by $0.56 per barrel. However, December gold has fallen by $27.60 per ounce. The USDA reported private exporters' sales of 100,000 metric tons (3.9 million bushels) of corn for delivery to Mexico during the 2026/2027 marketing year.
The grain and soy markets are mostly weaker due to optimism about peace talks. No cash cattle trade has developed yet, and asking prices remain elusive, likely delaying trade until Thursday or Friday.
