Grains and Livestock Markets Mixed on Friday
The grains and livestock futures markets experienced a mixed start to the day on Friday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down, but some contracts in the cattle complex were trading higher.
December corn prices fell by 2 cents per bushel, while November soybeans dropped by 11.75 cents per bushel. December KC wheat lost 7.75 cents per bushel, and December Chicago wheat declined by 9 cents per bushel. In contrast, some cattle contracts saw gains, with December live cattle up $1.08 at $217.325.
The USDA reported private exports of 111,000 metric tons (4.1 mb) of soybeans for delivery to China during the 2026/2027 marketing year. Some light cash cattle trade had developed in the North at $350 this week, steady with last week's weighted average.
