Grains and Livestock Markets See Fluctuations Amid U.S.-China Optimism
The grains and livestock futures markets are experiencing fluctuations on September 24th. December corn is down by 1.5 cents per bushel, while November soybeans are up by 4.5 cents. The wheat market is also affected, with December KC wheat down by 4.75 cents, December Chicago wheat down by 4.75 cents, and December MIAX wheat down by 3.5 cents.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down by 36.47 points, while the U.S. Dollar Index is up by 0.220. November crude oil is up by $1.96 per barrel, but December gold is down by $8.50 per ounce.
According to a USDA report, private exporters have sold 120,000 metric tons (4.4 mb) of soybeans for delivery to China during the 2026/2027 marketing year. The market is optimistic about the U.S.-China meeting, leading to higher prices for soybeans and meal due to tight new crop supplies.
In the livestock sector, December live cattle are down by $0.90 at $221.45, while November feeder cattle are down by $0.75 at $328.75. The lean hog market is also affected, with December lean hogs down by $0.28 at $70.05.
