Grains Fall as Soybeans and Wheat Take Heavy Hits
Grain futures finished mostly lower on Tuesday, with soybeans and wheat experiencing significant losses. Corn was relatively stable, with contracts down around a penny to a penny and three-quarters. September corn settled at $4.36 and three-quarters, while December closed at $4.60 and a half.
Soybean prices dropped sharply, with September beans falling 10 and a quarter cents to $11.51 and a quarter. November soybeans lost even more, dropping 10 and three-quarters to $11.68 and three-quarters. Soybean meal was modestly lower in comparison.
The wheat market fared the worst, with significant losses across the board. September Chicago wheat fell 10 and a quarter cents to $6.30 and a quarter, while September Kansas City hard red winter wheat dropped 14 and a quarter to $6.99 and a quarter.
