Greek LNG Ship Involved in Incident While Exiting Hormuz

A Greek-owned liquefied natural gas carrier called Gas Log Shanghai was involved in an incident while exiting the Strait of Hormuz at the end of last week, according to its owner company.

The vessel is stable and the crew is safe, but the nature of the incident has not been specified by Gas Log LNG Services.

The Gas Log Shanghai had loaded liquefied gas in Qatar in late July and was making its way out of the Persian Gulf when the incident occurred. As of Sunday, the ship was detected just outside the Strait of Hormuz, according to Reuters, citing ship-tracking data.

This incident raises concerns about the safety of navigating through the Strait of Hormuz, which has been a hotspot for maritime incidents in recent months.
