Greek Patriot Battery Foils Missile Attack on Saudi Oil Refinery

A Greek Patriot battery stationed in Saudi Arabia intercepted two ballistic missiles launched from Yemen on Saturday morning, preventing an attack on a major Saudi refinery in the Red Sea city of Yanbu.

The missiles were destroyed at approximately 7:15 a.m. Greek time on July 25, according to the Hellenic National Defense General Staff. Greek defense officials said the battery achieved a 100 percent interception rate, neutralizing both incoming threats.

The two missiles were reportedly aimed at a strategically important refinery installation in Yanbu, where the Greek Patriot unit is deployed. The location of the refinery on Saudi Arabia's western coast makes it one of the kingdom's main oil processing and export centers.
