Gulf Coast Grain Export Bids Hold Steady as Corn, Soybean Prices Increase
Export bids for corn and soybeans at Gulf Coast ports in Louisiana were steady on September 21, while prices increased across the board. The US Department of Agriculture's MyMarketNews report showed that current-delivery bids for US No. 2 yellow corn ranged from 77.00 to 79.00 cents over the December contract, averaging $6.2050 per bushel, up $0.1500.
The year-ago average was $4.9875. October and November bids were also split, with varying price ranges and averages.
Soybean prices rose by $0.2075 for current through November and by $0.2050 for December and January. The report listed freight as CIF-barge for all quoted bids.
