Guyana Set for Record-Breaking $6 Billion Oil Revenue Haul
The Guyana Government is on track to rake in over $6 billion in oil revenue this year, according to its mid-year report. The country's share of profit oil and royalties are expected to bring in US$5.9 billion and US$508 million respectively.
The Finance Ministry reported that 162 lifts of crude oil were extracted from the Stabroek Block in the first half of the year, with revenue from profit oil reaching US$1.7 billion. This includes payments for three lifts that occurred in the final quarter of 2025 and 18 of the 21 lifts that took place in the first six months of this year.
The Government also received US$218.4 million in royalties related to crude oil production and sales in the final quarter of last year and the first quarter of this year. The cumulative balance, inclusive of interest income, at the end of June was US$4.2 billion.
The Finance Ministry explained that the increase in revenue is due to rapid development and elevated crude oil prices, which have accelerated cost recovery in the Stabroek Block. As a result, Guyana's share of profit oil has increased, consistent with the Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) fiscal framework.
