Hanwha Ocean Lands Major Contract for Two LNG Carriers
Hanwha Ocean has secured a significant contract to build two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers for an African shipowner. The order, worth $499.6 million, will be delivered by November 2029.
This latest deal brings Hanwha Ocean's total orders for the year to $7.71 billion, with 41 vessels in the works, including very large crude carriers (VLCCs), LNG carriers, and container ships.
The company has been busy securing major contracts this year, with a focus on building vessels that can meet the growing demand for energy transportation.
