Hanwha Ocean Wins $349 Million Contract for Three VLGCs

Hanwha Ocean Co., a South Korean shipbuilder, has won a significant contract to build three very large gas carriers (VLGCs) for an unnamed client in Oceania.

The order is worth 477.8 billion-won (approximately $349 million USD), and the vessels are scheduled to be delivered by December 6, 2030.

This contract marks a major milestone for Hanwha Ocean, which has secured orders worth a combined $5.94 billion for 32 vessels, including six liquefied natural gas carriers and 17 very large crude carriers.
