Canadian farmers are facing a challenging harvest season due to unpredictable weather conditions and global conflicts. Stephen Vandervalk, a fourth-generation wheat grower from southern Alberta, noted that it's an industry where investment decisions span generations, not fiscal quarters.

The wet spring delayed seeding in many areas, followed by rainy conditions during the harvest period. This has resulted in a significant delay in the harvest of various crops, including canola and wheat.

Rick White, head of the Canadian Canola Growers Association, stated that farmers are 'fighting mud trying to get out on the fields.' The delayed harvest is causing concerns about crop quality, with many farmers expecting a deterioration in their yields.
