Heat Wave Hits Grain Belt, Thunderstorms Offer Hope

Weather conditions are playing a significant role in the food supply, particularly for grains and grain stocks. Heat advisories have been issued for counties in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin due to hot temperatures persisting across the Corn Belt.

The National Weather Service reported that heat indexes could exceed 100° F levels in southern North Dakota and northern South Dakota on this afternoon.

Despite thunderstorms forecasted for parts of Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois over the weekend, there is a high likelihood that these will bring rain and potentially improve crop prospects in those states.
