Heating Oil Prices Soar by 50%, Adding $878 to Average Household Bill
More than four million U.S. households that rely on heating oil are facing significant price increases this winter, according to the National Energy Assistance Directors Association.
The projection shows a 50% increase in heating costs, with an average household expected to spend $878 more than last year's estimate of $1,749.
The Mid-Atlantic region is projected to see the smallest increase, with households spending around $779 more, while Vermont and Maine are estimated to see a staggering 77% rise in costs.
