HF Sinclair to Retire North American Base Oil Refining Assets
HF Sinclair Corporation has announced plans to retire its base oil refining assets in Mississauga, Ontario by the end of 2027. The company aims to separate its Lubricants & Specialties business into an independent, publicly traded company.
The Mississauga facility has a production capacity of up to 15,600 barrels per day and is one of the largest manufacturers of Group III base oils in North America.
After retirement, HF Sinclair's Lubricants & Specialties business will rely more heavily on externally sourced base oils from two global base oil manufacturers, with whom it has established strategic commercial agreements.
