High Plains Grain Prices See Significant Fluctuations

The High Plains region of the United States has seen significant fluctuations in grain prices over the past year. A snapshot of daily cash bids from September 18 reveals that local elevator prices for corn, soybeans, wheat, and sorghum vary greatly across states such as Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas.

The data shows that corn prices in Colorado have risen by 15.6% compared to the same period last year, while soybean prices in Kansas have dropped by 12.3%. Wheat prices in Nebraska have increased by 8.5%, whereas sorghum prices in Oklahoma have decreased by 10.2%.

Annual grain price trends indicate that corn and wheat prices have experienced significant increases over the past year, while soybean and sorghum prices have shown more modest fluctuations.
