High Plains Grain Prices Vary Widely Across Region
The US Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) has released its weekly report on cash grain prices for major commodities across several states in the High Plains region. The report provides current country elevator bids for corn, soybeans, wheat, and sorghum from elevators in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas.
The AMS report shows that cash bids for these grains vary by state and commodity. For instance, the bid price for corn is $3.55 per bushel at an elevator in western Iowa, while it's $3.70 per bushel at a facility in eastern Kansas. Soybeans are selling for $9.45 per bushel in northern Missouri and $10.05 per bushel in southern Oklahoma.
The AMS report also highlights market price trends for major grains. The data suggests that corn prices have remained relatively stable, while soybean prices have fluctuated due to changes in global demand and supply. Wheat prices, on the other hand, have trended downward over the past week.
