Hilli Episeyo FLNG Heads to Argentina After Eight Years in Cameroon
The Hilli Episeyo FLNG vessel has left Cameroon after eight years of operating in the region. The departure marks a significant milestone for Argentina's LNG export project, which aims to monetize Vaca Muerta gas resources using offshore FLNG infrastructure.
The vessel will undergo upgrades in Singapore before redeploying to the Golfo San Matías in Argentina, where it will support the development of the country's LNG export infrastructure. The Hilli Episeyo has a capacity of 2.45 million tons per year and is expected to reach its new location by mid-2027.
CoreMarine, the company responsible for transporting and installing the vessel's soft-yoke mooring systems, has developed a disconnection methodology specifically for the facility. This simplified offshore operations, reduced execution time and cost, and allowed for the removal of the FLNG vessel after eight years of operation.
