Hindustan Copper Aims to Triple Ore Production by FY30 Amid Copper Price Risks
Hindustan Copper is an Indian public sector undertaking that mines copper ore. It's a vertically integrated company, controlling the entire production chain from mining to smelting and refining.
The company has unveiled its Vision 2030 plan, which aims to triple its ore production from 3.67 million tonnes in FY26 to 12.20 million tonnes by FY30. This would require significant investment, with spending phased over the next few years.
Hindustan Copper's management has acknowledged that the copper price is a major risk factor. A $100 rise in the copper price is estimated to be worth around ₹20 crore to ₹25 crore of profit for the company.
