Hindustan Copper shares surged 4% in early trading on Tuesday, reaching Rs 527.25, following global copper prices hitting an all-time high of $14,617 per ton on the London Metal Exchange.

The rally is driven by concerns over tightening supply and anticipation of possible US tariffs on refined metal imports, which has created a more cautious environment for global commodity traders.

Hindustan Copper's recent financial performance has been robust, with a record profit before tax of Rs 1,232.73 crore in the fiscal year ending March 2026, a significant jump of 95% compared to the previous year.

The company posted a 162.6% year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs 352.61 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal year (FY27), accompanied by strong operating margins of 54.2%.
