Hindustan Copper, one of India's only pure-play domestic copper mining companies, has seen significant growth in its financial performance. The company reported a net profit surge of 162.5% year-over-year to Rs 352.6 crore in the first quarter of FY27, with revenue from operations growing 81.4% y-o-y to Rs 936.5 crore.

The increase in LME copper prices has benefited Hindustan Copper, which has seen a rise in global demand for copper driven by clean energy technology and electric mobility sectors. The company's expansion plans, including a capital expenditure of Rs 7,188.6 crore up to FY30, aim to reach ore production of 12.2 million tonnes by FY30.

However, the stock trades at a premium of 42.7 times its earnings, making it expensive compared to leading global players in copper mining and production. Analysts suggest that investors should consider the valuations carefully before investing in Hindustan Copper.
