Historic Triangle Gas Prices Edge Downward
Gas prices in the Historic Triangle are trending downward as summer comes to an end. According to AAA, the national average for regular gasoline dropped from $4.09 to $4.06.
The decline is attributed to lower crude oil prices and the end of peak summer travel season. Virginia's average gas price is approximately $3.81 as of August 10, which is roughly 10 cents lower than a week prior.
Local gas stations in James City County are offering regular gas for as low as $3.49 at Walmart Fuel Station on George Washington Memorial Highway. In York County, Sam's Club on Jefferson Ave has regular gas for $3.57 with membership card requirements.
