Höegh Evi and PETROS have signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) to develop the Kuching LNG Terminal in Sarawak. The terminal will play a central role in supplying natural gas for power generation, improving energy security, and supporting new industries around Kuching.

The proposed facility will feature a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), supported by dedicated mooring infrastructure, subsea and onshore pipelines, and onshore receiving facilities. This configuration is intended to provide Sarawak with flexible access to LNG while supporting downstream and energy-related activities.

Höegh Evi CEO Erik Nyheim said the company is committed to working with PETROS as a development partner and leveraging its experience in delivering floating LNG infrastructure projects to support Sarawak's evolving requirements.
