Hong Kong Gets Its First Copper-Miners ETF
Mirae Asset Global Investments has launched the first copper-focused ETF in Hong Kong. The Global X Copper Miners ETF (3014/9014 HK) offers dedicated exposure to global copper mining companies and tracks the Solactive Copper Miners Index.
The index is a new one with minimal operating history, but it's based on the Solactive GBS Global Markets All Cap USD Index and applies liquidity requirements. The constituents are weighted by free-float market capitalization with an individual cap of 7%.
Copper miners sit at the source of the supply response to rising demand from AI and data centers, which has opened a new vector of copper demand. Dennis Fok, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer, ETF, Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong) Limited, said, 'Global X has long been at the forefront of commodity-linked investment solutions.'
The Fund is listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong with an issue price of US$1 per share and a board lot size of 100 shares. It's part of Mirae Asset's global ETF platform, which comprises more than 768 ETFs with approximately US$275 billion in ETF assets.
