Hormuz Traffic Slows as LNG Vessels Reappear

The Strait of Hormuz saw four commodity vessels transit through it on Thursday, down from six a day earlier and below the 10-day average of about 16. Preliminary shipping data showed that three of these vessels were entering the strait heading into the Gulf, while one was exiting.

Among the vessels were two Panamax tankers, one Supramax ship, and one Kamsarmax vessel.

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical waterway that carries about a fifth of the world's oil and gas. Three liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessels also reappeared outside the strait on Thursday, according to data from shiptracker Kpler.
