Houthi Attack Disrupts Saudi Oil Supplies in Jazan

Saudi Aramco's Jazan oil refinery in Saudi Arabia was severely damaged by an attack from Yemen's Houthi militants on July 25. The attack targeted the Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) complex and the tank farm area, causing significant damage.

The refinery, which has a daily capacity of 400,000 barrels per day, will tentatively resume operations by August 15 after repairs are completed, according to a note from consultancy IIR. Aramco did not immediately comment on the situation.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree confirmed that their forces had successfully struck sites belonging to Saudi Aramco in Jazan and Yanbu, extending the war's impact to a second front in the Gulf region.
