A new energy company, Mera Oil, has shortlisted three locations in the Arabian Gulf for its planned $5 billion integrated refinery.

The sites are located outside the Strait of Hormuz and were selected after a three-year evaluation process across the region.

Mera Oil is a joint venture between MWG Enterprises, Patel Family Office, and PWS, a unit of Saudi Arabia's AHQ Group.

The refinery will have a capacity of 200,000 barrels per day (bpd) and will be linked to deepwater port infrastructure.
