Houthi Attacks Disrupt Saudi Energy Facilities Amid Escalating Tensions
Houthi attacks on Saudi energy facilities have disrupted operations and wounded 73 people, according to Saudi authorities. The attacks occurred in several southern cities, including Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran.
The Saudi energy ministry said fires erupted at the sites and several people were injured as firefighting teams rushed to contain the blazes and assess the damage. The Houthis attacked these facilities in retaliation for Saudi Arabia's airstrikes on Yemen.
The attacks come amid rising tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran, with oil prices soaring due to diplomatic negotiations stalling. Brent crude futures rose $1 to $98/BBL, while U.S. crude futures rose over $2 to $93.65/BBL.
