Houthi Attacks Ignite Fires in Saudi Arabia's Oil Facilities

A wave of Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia's southern region has left 73 people wounded and ignited fires at several oil facilities, according to authorities. The attacks come as part of a renewed conflict between the Iranian-backed rebels in Yemen and the Saudi-led coalition.

The clashes have been escalating for weeks, with government forces making territorial gains in provinces such as Hodeida, Taiz, and Baydah. Maj. Gen. Turki al-Malki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition, described the attacks as a 'serious escalation' of the conflict.

The attacks hit civilian and economic facilities in cities including Abha's Jazan, Najran, and Khamis Mushait, said Al-Malki. The Energy Ministry stated that operations at the affected oil facilities were temporarily suspended due to the fires.
