Houthi Missile Attack Ignites Fire on Saudi Tanker Near Yanbu Port

The Houthi forces have claimed responsibility for an attack on a Saudi tanker off the coast of Yanbu, located on the Red Sea. According to Yahya Saree, the group's military spokesman, the operation was carried out with a ballistic missile, which ignited a fire on board the vessel.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations agency confirmed the incident and reported that the entire crew was safe, with no environmental impact detected. The attack occurred 63 nautical miles west of Yanbu, which has become a crucial oil export outlet for Saudi Arabia since the lockdown of the Strait of Hormuz by Tehran.

The Houthis have targeted several Saudi vessels in recent weeks, as part of their maritime blockade against Riyadh. This campaign is linked to the regional conflict between the Houthi rebels and the Yemeni government, backed by Saudi Arabia.
