Houthi Official Threatens 'All-Out War' Against Saudi Arabia Over Unmet Demands

A senior Houthi official has threatened Saudi Arabia with an 'all-out war' if the group's demands are not met. Hizam al-Asad, a member of the Houthi political bureau, said that the movement could target oil facilities and other economic infrastructure in Saudi territory.

The Houthis have been embroiled in a conflict with the Yemeni government and its allies, including Saudi Arabia, for years. Al-Asad accused Saudi Arabia of imposing economic conditions and reopening military fronts, which he said was a breach of previous understandings.

The Houthis launched attacks on Monday in and around the Red Sea port city of Mokha, Taiz province and Marib city. The group also carried out an attack in Shabwa province, according to reports.

Al-Asad said that the Houthis wanted sovereignty over Yemen's ports and airports, as well as their financial demands to be met. He rejected Saudi Arabia's role as a mediator in the conflict, saying the kingdom should instead be regarded as a direct party to the war and blockade.
