Saudi Arabia's Najran Airport suspended operations on August 4 due to an attack claimed by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

The Houthis declared a maritime blockade of Saudi Arabia last month and have since targeted oil tankers and infrastructure.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree stated that the rebels successfully targeted a sensitive target at Najran Airport using a drone in response to Saudi airspace violations over the Saada and Hajjah governorates.

A regional source reported that the airport's main radar was hit, affecting operations, but there is no official comment from Saudi Arabia on the claimed attack.
