Houthi Rebels Claim Responsibility for Saudi Oil Facility Attacks
Houthi rebels in Yemen claimed responsibility for attacks on Saudi oil facilities in Riyadh and Khurais, saying they used ballistic missiles and drones to target state-run Aramco facilities. According to Houthi spokesperson Yahya Sarea, the strikes were 'precise and direct' and led to fires breaking out.
The attack comes as fighting has intensified between the Houthis and Saudi-backed Yemeni government in recent days. The conflict has been ongoing since 2014, with multiple factions involved.
Saudi Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki disputed the Houthi account of the attack, calling it 'misleading' in a statement to Asharq Al-Awsat.
